Lloyd Alexander TS

#1
Alexander TS arrived in 1958: the small automobile signified a major step towards the modern passenger car conceptual design. It featured front drive layout with transversely mounted OHC "twin" of 596 cc displacement. At that, Alexander TS promoted the compact power unit arranged according to the Walter Christy's neat asymmetrical set-up. Nowadays, this very arrangement absolutely dominates the front drive car fleet all over the world.
Add here direct and accurate rack & pinion steering, quite decent independent rear suspension with trailing arms and coil springs. The nice promising car... Regrettably, Lloyd Motoren Werke GmbH ceased production in 1962.
