Let's face it, vehicle chase scenes, and memorable vehicles in general MAKE TV-shows/movies. Knight Rider?? KITT was a better actor than the Hoff... and do you think the Ghostbusters would've been as noticed if they were driving a Golf rather than that gorgeous Caddy hearse? NO. So the SMC Higher-Ups have been curled up in our lightless cave for the past few weeks shouting random insults and throwing peanuts at each other to bring you all a totally basic, yet totally awesome themed Contest to finish up a very epic year for SMCars.net... ...so here it is... ------------------------- ...aaand ACTION!! To recognise the most prestigious past and present vehicular chase-scenes in movies, we’re challenging the creative minds of our epic Community to the following: Replicate a famous vehicle used in a past/present film and/or television program. This vehicle can be any type from and film or TV show; car, bus, motor-cycle, space-ship, ect, however, it must be a recognisable vehicle, so no “But this push-bike can be seen in the background for 5-frames of this student film” type thing, mkay? We’re talking famous rides such as the Batmobile, Doc’s DeLorean Time-Machine, the A-Team’s GMC Van and the Starship Enterprise, just to name a few… DeathStars are welcome, but we'd advise to go for something a lil' 'more' -------------------- Contest Specifics: - The modelling, texturing and rendering of one famous film/TV show vehicle. - Model is to be created from scratch, with no use of existing elements of your old work or somebody else’s. - Model poly/tri-counts can be anything; low-poly, mid-poly, high-poly, it doesn't matter. Technique should still be excercised depending on your choice, eg: poly-flow, topology, texture-sizes if your model could be for a game, ect. - Model is to be shown in the LCA WIP section, with the heading "LCA Contest: *name of creation*", and kept up-to-date as much as possible. - Completed models to be rendered into two main shots showing off the design at it's best angles. Studio renders would be fine, however creativity within renders is advised. - No teaming up. This must be solely your own project. ------------------------- …aaand CUT!! The time by which you must have your creations finished and ready for judgement is the 31st of December. That's right, just under 2 months as of the opening of this thread. Prizes are as follows: 1st: Official SMC Gold Medal 2nd: Official SMC Silver Medal 3rd: Official SMC Bronze Medal Get to it!!
