Chrysler Thunderbolt (1940/1941)

The Thunderbolt was designed by Alex Tremulis (who also did the 1948 Tucker) and is a fine comparison to Harley Earl's Y-Job, its flush fenders have a much more modern look. The car industry seemed reluctant to adopt this look though, for a long time cars with such fender layout were jokingly called "shoeboxes". Great contribution.
